Despite not becoming a psychologist, Yanni is credited with preventing at least one suicide with his music. Yanni earned a BA in psychology from the University of Minnesota. Before that, he dreamed of being an Olympic swimmer. Yanni Chryssomallis is a completely self taught composer. He can neither read nor write music, but he has perfect pitch.
