Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard and Dntel's Jimmy Tamborello make up the electro indie pop outfit, The Postal Service. After collaborating on a single by Dntel, in 2002 The Postal Service's founders created their debut album via snail mail. Because they swapped ideas via CD Rs dropping them in the mailbox they called themselves the Postal Service. They avoided a lawsuit (and got to keep their name), by agreeing to assist the U.S. Postal Service in promoting the mail. Under the pseudonym James Figurine, Tamborello plays in the indietronica band Figurine and released a solo album in 2006.
