One time leader of the great band Birthday Party, Nick Cave has moved on to themes of death and redemption behind the piano. Nick Cave published his first novel, "And The Ass Saw The Angel," in 1989. His duet with pop idol Kylie Minogue, "Where the Wild Roses Grow," was a mainstream hit in Australia. Nick Cave's music is featured in several Wim Wenders films, including "Wings of Desire" (in which he also performs). Since 1988, Cave has performed one of his best known songs, "The Mercy Seat," at nearly every one of his live shows.
