Mazzy Star's dreamy atmospherics create a dark, brooding cloud, but Hope Sandoval's languid voice keeps you safe and warm. Vocalist Hope Sandoval has appeared on tracks by the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Chemical Brothers and Death in Vegas. Guitarist David Roback was a member of Paisley Underground groups Rain Parade and Opal before forming Mazzy Star. Hope Sandoval's first band was called Going Home, a folk duo she formed in 1986 with friend Sylvia Gomez. Sandoval made her solo debut in 2001 backed by the Warm Inventions, featuring My Bloody Valentine's Colm O' Ciosoig.
