Kasabian have a tendency to mix up slap happy rock ' n' roll, driving beats and hippie freak outs in one song. The group is named after Linda Kasabian, Charles Manson's getaway driver. "Club Foot" is dedicated to Czech student Jan Palach. In 1969 he set himself on fire to protest the Russian occupation. Kasabian recorded the theme song for ITV's coverage of the 2006 World Cup, a cover of the David Bowie song "Heroes." In July, 2006, founding member (and guitarist) Chris Karloff split with the band, citing "artistic and creative" differences.
