British pub rock meets R&B proved a winning combination for Huey Lewis & the News throughout the ' 80s. San Francisco band whose songs about "workin' for a livin" endeared them to the American working class. They are best known for the songs "The Power of Love" and "Back In Time" which was featured in the film "Back to the Future." In 1972, Lewis and Sean Hopper were in the jazz funk band Clover, the backing band for Elvis Costello's first album. In 1984, the band sued Ray Parker Jr. citing similarities between their "I Want a New Drug" and his theme to "Ghostbusters."
