Billy Talent is a Toronto based modern day punk rock band, blending hardcore, metal and emo. The band started out as Pezz but had to change their name when it was discovered another Pezz existed first, in Tennessee. The band lifted its name from a character from Michael Turner's novel "Hard Core Logo." They played the first Lollapalooza revival in 2003 and went on tour with the Buzzcocks that summer.
