Billy Currington wrote the hit "Walk A Little Straighter" when he was 12 years old. It's about his alcoholic stepfather. Currington moved to Nashville following high school hoping to score a record deal. He scored a concrete mixing job instead. He got his big break in Nashville when Mark Willis requested to sing one of Currington's self penned songs. By working with Mark Wills' producer, the famed Carson Chamberlain, Currington was able to land a record deal.
