BB King Bio:
B.B. is nicknamed "King of the Blues" thanks to his weeping guitar lines and throaty, big man vocals. King was taught how to play guitar by his cousin, Country Blues legend Bukka White. As a child, Riley King worked as a sharecropper in Itta Bena, Miss. He left home for Memphis in 1946. The name "B.B." comes from King's days as a DJ on the Memphis radio station WDIA, when his handle was "Blues Boy King." Between 1951 and 1985, B.B.
