Thanks to their rousing, catchy hardcore, AFI have become one of the biggest East Bay bands since Green Day. AFI stands for "A Fire Inside." AFI first got together in 1991. After breaking up to attend college, they reformed in the mid 1990s. The official (and well organized) fan club for AFI is called the Despair Faction.
